This is the core principle that guides everything we build. By using Layal, you agree to engage with an AI system that prioritizes honesty over confidence.

What Layal Is

• An honesty layer: Layal adds transparency to AI responses by labeling each claim with its epistemic status
• A fact-checking tool: We independently verify claims against trusted sources when possible
• A research assistant: Layal helps you understand what's verified, inferred, or generated

What Layal Is NOT

• Not a source of absolute truth: We help you assess claims, but you should always verify critical information
• Not medical/legal/financial advice: Layal is an AI assistant, not a licensed professional
• Not hallucination-free: We label uncertainty, but AI systems can still make mistakes

Acceptable Use

By using Layal, you agree to:

• Use the service lawfully and ethically
• Not attempt to bypass rate limits or abuse the API
• Not use Layal to generate harmful, misleading, or illegal content
• Take responsibility for how you use information provided

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us of any unauthorized access

Intellectual Property

• You retain ownership of your questions and inputs
• AI-generated responses are provided for your use
• The Layal platform, design, and code remain our property

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Implement rate limits to ensure fair usage
• Suspend accounts that violate these terms
